Like the title says, name the movie you think is the best ever made. I know there are alot of movies out there, but try to name one or two of them...

The two best movies in my opinion...

Training Day

Scream

Your turn...

I'm going to name the original Star Wars trilogy as one, as well as LOTR because it's really just one very long film.  So mine are:

Star Wars
The Sound of Music
Silence of the Lambs
The Exorcist

I know, I know.  That's four, but I think I did well to narrow it down....

I'd have to say some of the BEST movies ever made have to be

Ghostbusters - Really good story, entertaining, and it looks better then some of the big movies being made today

Aliens - Great action, great characters, it's just a really good movie that even though it's a sequel can easily stand on it's own.  You don't need to have seen Alien to understand this movie, though watching Alien does help explain a few things, and in it's self a great film.

Singing in the Rain - It's a musical, weather you like them or not, this is by far a great movie.  It hasn't stood time too well, but this movie is rather old.  It tells a good alomst underdogish type of story, and can be quite funny at times.

Star Wars - The original trilogy, the three movies that started the big craze.  Star Wars this, Star Wars that...if a series of movies has this much sucess it's great period.

Office Space - A great movie, a personal favorite of mine, and based on cartoon shorts of the Saturday Night Live of old.  One of those movies that tells a story that's just really good.

Clerks - Great story that just builds up.

Just like to point out that these are movies that I think are some of the best of all time, and not the movies I love the most, though I do tend to really like all the ones I listed.  And as much as I love Evil Dead I couldn't put it up there, as so with Lord of The Rings and Shaun of the Dead.

One of the main reasons I can't put Lord of the Rings up there, is because I don't see it being the same in ten or twenty years.  Hell even in five years I think all three are going to start looking rather simplistic CGI wise.  And i just see it as being a series of movies that were, "Great, for their time"

Clerks is a remarkable title to see in that list, i like the View Askew movies with Jay and Silent Bob in it, but i'm not that big of a fan to claim it as best movie. :)

No, for a few years now FACE/OFF is my best movie ever. Great performance of both Cage and Travolta who had to play a villain and the good guy. The only downside was that i found this movie as rental and was stupid enough to not experience this in the cinema. Maybe i get that chance when it goes into the special 'classic comeback' movies we have here. Did the same with "The Rock", wich is also a favorite movie of mine.

Can't believe I forgot the Rock, that movie is badass!

I think I put Clerks in there more so for it's accomplishment of being really entertaining and yet being based on something that really no one would actually want to watch...that being a day in the life of a clerk.  The story would be hard to pull into something decent, yet Clerks does it.  I think in every aspect it's in the least a above decent movie.  It captures your attention, and makes you want to watch it.

Yeah, you better say Aliens...*gives evil eye* ...And we all know that Corporal Hicks was the best character in that movie.

Anyway, some of my top favorites:

Star Wars (Original Trilogy)
Aliens
SE7EN
Lord of the Rings Trilogy

I'm actually having difficulties thinking of ones I really like...Bah!
